about
qwiopty's holiday exchange began in 2019, when qwiopty first started hosting secret santa events for her closest circle of friends.then, with the introduction of the qwiopty’s art qlub discord server, the event was reworked to include a larger and broader group of participants!now, qwiopty’s holiday exchange aims to bring together creatives alike to make and receive art, as well as meet other artists!
how it works!
Participants will fill out an application asking for...1) Your Name/Socials, 2) Your Interests/Original Content, and 3) Event Preferences!
All applications are collected and distributed among participants, keeping interests and other preferences in mind!
Participants will receive their assignment in the form of a number and locker.Whatever number you are assigned will be whatever locker you will be checking throughout the event!Make sure you do not reveal your number, or check any other lockers!
After assignments have been handed out, participants have until December 20th to complete their gift!Gifts include artwork or writing that can be sent via Direct Message.
On exchange day, all gifts and secret senders/recipients will be revealed!

You must be 13 years old or older to participate in this event.Once you have submitted the application for this event, you are assumed to have read through all of the event guidelines, and agree to follow them.This event intends to be safe and inclusive for all participants. Any displays of content/behavior that is hateful or discriminatory is prohibited (including transphobia, homophobia, racism, xenophobia, ableism, sexism, and any use of slurs). To join the event, you must fill out the application and agree to follow our event guidelines!Some sections may ask about references, however you are not required to have them all ready by the form close date, November 15th. In the event that a participant must drop out of the event, pinch hitters will be able to fill in for them! Anyone may opt-in to be a pinch hitter, and opportunities will be first-come, first serve. Lockers are used to house all info about your assignment, and will be repurposed at the end of the event to reveal artworks to participants! If you are having trouble navigating lockers, please reach out to @qwiopty.ABOUT GIFTS...
Gifts include artwork, writing, and anything else approved by those participating in the event! As this is an open event, we require that all artworks are appropriate, SFW, and are made entirely by yourself!Gifts must be able to be sent via direct message! The event will operate primarily through Discord, however Tumblr and Instagram are being considered for additional spaces!There will be a checkpoint halfway through the event to ensure that you have been working on your gift. If you do not show any progress, you will not be allowed to view your gift until you have shown proof of effort.ABOUT STRIKES/DROP OUTS...
Once you have joined the event, we expect that you are fully committed to participating. If you can no longer participate, please notify @qwiopty before the progress check on 12/6. Q: What do I put in for the wishlist?
A: When filling out the application, you will be asked to list your interests as well as make a special request/wish list! If you have a specific drawing or writing prompt you would love to see fulfilled, you may note it in the application, however you are not required to leave one and Secret Santas are not required to follow them!Q: Do I need a fully fleshed out reference sheet?
A: Nope, just whatever you want or are able to provide! If you plan to provide references, you will be able to upload them in the application form AND update them for the first few weeks of the event! In the case that your Secret Santa needs more detail or reference, I will pass their request to you anonymously.Q: What's a Pinch Hitter?
A: Pinch Hitters are substitutes/fill-ins for any unexpected events! For instance, if a participant were to drop out of the event, a pinch hitter would take their place and continue making a present for their assigned recipients.Q: Are there specific rules on artworks involving two characters?*
A: As of right now, there are no rules or restrictions on the amount of characters involved or the render level required, it would likely depend on the comfort level of your Secret Santa! This may change once the applications have been officially sent out, but for the most part there won't be any super strict guidelines regarding character amount or render quality.Q: Is there a rule on ship related content?*
A: As long as they abide by the event guidelines, ship content should be fine! Again, this may depend on the comfort level of your Secret Santa.*Please keep in mind that this event places more emphasis on the creation of gifted artworks for others! Special request/wish list items are meant to give direction for gifted artworks and are not guaranteed requests for participants. We will be asking every participant for preferences for making/receiving gifts, and doing our best to match them to another participant!Where will the event be held?
A: All event communications will be primarily sent through Discord, but we are looking at the possibility of hosting the event across platforms like Tumblr and Instagram!

Please don't write for my main sona, specifically. It feels weird to me (and part of the reason why I don't like x reader fics or things like that.)
BUT it's okay if you write for Azzy + Oso because they're basically ocs at this point.
Don't make my ocs interact with canon characters. (Specifically my sona, and Azzy and Oso. I love canon characters, but I do NOT intend to have these ocs meet. They never actually meet so it's odd and wrong to me.)
Avoid shipping in general...? Just not my style. If you think you're better at romantic centered stuff, though, I like Ritshou and TakeRitsu in Mp100 👍.
My current favorite thing is Mob Psycho 100, so if you can draw/write anythinf about Ritsu Kageyama, it'll be much appreciated!! I'm currently into the idea of more fatherly Reigen towards Ritsu AND also the Kageyama brothers, so either (or both) would be great. :]

Sync: They are an 9 year old non-binary, red furred goat mobian with cyan and whites shoes, a red retro jacket, puffy hair, and black horns.They were adopted and cared for as a baby by a maned wolf mobian named, Fredrick (havent designed hum yet, srry)where they live inside his diner/house called Chao-Down. Sync has a cheery and warm disposition, and always happy to serve their customers. I have a pokemon trainer named Kai-Xi. She's half Chinese/French(from Kalos) and is a ghost type trainer, her favorite being Lampent. Thats why her and Morty get along because they both raise ghost pokemon.
Then there's my Hazbin Hotel character, CaMY K Inkjet, who is a succubus that is a pop star and travels to the other rings of hell to preform. She's in different outfits and fun to draw because of that. Her name/outfits are based off the ink colors from a printer.
Lastly, I have my Sonic OC, Beau Xander. He's a scavenger that likes to fix up/sell parts of Dr. Robotnik broken machinery. He's also a father of 3 chaos and struggles to take care/support of them because he loves to gamble his money away at the casino.
